Care instructions for
Monstera Albo
The Monstera Albo (Monstera deliciosa 'Albo Borsigiana' or Monstera adansonii 'Albo Variegata') is a rare, highly sought-after houseplant known for its stunning green leaves with splashes of white or cream-colored variegation.
Light
• Place in a spot with bright, indirect light to maintain variegation without burning the leaves.
• An east-facing window is ideal, or several feet away from a south-facing window.
• Too little light can cause the white parts to fade or be lost.
Water
• Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry.
• Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot; ensure the pot has good drainage.
Soil & Fertilizer
• Use a chunky, well-draining soil mix that includes components like perlite, orchid bark, and coco coir.
• Fertilize monthly during the spring and summer growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
Humidity & Temperature
• Maintain high humidity, ideally above 60%.
• Use a humidifier or place a humidity tray if your environment is dry.
• Keep the plant in a warm environment, between 65°F and 85°F (18°C and 29°C).
Other Care Tips
• Provide a moss pole to support its natural climbing habit and encourage larger leaves.
• Rotate the plant occasionally for even growth.
• Prune as needed to control size or remove yellowing leaves, using sterilized tools.
• Clean the leaves regularly to help them photosynthesize.
